ISSNMT HISTORY

ISSNMT has successfully trained graduates for 39 years. The International School of Skin, Nailcare & Therapy has a history of being a leader in the industry for training qualifies Estheticians and Nail Technicians. The school offered the first Nail Care class in February 1985 in Atlanta, Georgia and was the first state-approved School for Nail Care training in Georgia. In June 1987, the School achieved national accreditation by what is now known as The Council on Occupational Education (COE). In June 1988, the Skincare/Esthetician program was added. The School became the first in the United States to be nationally accredited for Skin & Nail Care training exclusively. In 2008, the school added the Massage Therapy program to compliment the other programs and respond to growing job market in the beauty and wellness industry.

The school’s enrollment is a mix of international students as well as students from other parts of the United States and is a culturally diverse population. Over the years, the school has provided graduates for the beauty and wellness industry to employers in Georgia as well as other States and Countries. The school’s graduates span approximately 25 states and approximately 10 countries, plus a variety of travel and resort locations.

The school is recognized internationally for its quality training, knowledge and credentialed faculty. The credentials of each educator can be found in the School Catalog. Some of the ISSNMT instructors are C.I.D.E.S.C.O. Diplomats or ITEC certified. The CIDESCO diploma is recognized as the most advanced certification in the field of Esthetics and Beauty Therapy in the world. Those who have achieved this standard are indeed valuable as they can not only analyze the skin but the body as well. The skin reflects the state of the body as well as lifestyle and diet. A CIDESCO diplomat can diagnose skin problems based on training in Anatomy and Physiology. Another important element of the Training is in the chemicals and product content, and how best to treat a skin condition.

At the heart of the school’s history has been the consistent and effective training for marketable skills in the beauty and wellness industry to an ever changing student population and employer needs.

The program of International School of Skin, Nailcare and Massage Therapy is authorized under the Non-Public Postsecondary Educational Institutions Act of 1990 by Georgia Non-Public Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC) to offer instruction in Massage Therapy, Skin Care and Nailcare.

NCMTMB

The International School of Skin, Nailcare and Massage Therapy is a National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork approved school (NCBTMB Assigned School #49039-04).

With its rich history, ISSNMT is a leader in training professionals for the Beauty and Wellness Industry. The Instructional staff is superb with real world experience. Many continue to work in the field to enhance student knowledge. We have educators who publish frequently, are invited to speak at conventions, symposiums and industry events. Full time and part time job placement assistance is available to all graduates successfully employed. Graduates are encouraged and trained on how to develop his/her own jobs leads and interview successfully. We are very pleased with our placement rates and our State Board Pass rates are excellent

ADVANCED CLASSES

The School often offers several advanced classes throughout the calendar year. Check our website to keep informed of upcoming CEU classes or Advanced classes.

ISSNMT SPA

Students at ISSNMT get more hand–on training than any other school because of clients who visit ISSNMT Spa. The environment is dynamic and provides students with “real world” experience. Our graduates will be seasoned professionals by the time they graduate. There is no substitute for this type of preparation.

FINANCIAL AID

Financial Aid is available to those who qualify and ISSNMT offers no interest payment plans. Students interested in financial aid (Title IV programs) should contact the financial aid office at the school.

GRADUATES

Graduates from ISSNMT often return to enroll in another program. They value the comprehensive training they received. We have graduates who have completed all three programs offered and are what we call triple threat. This means they hold three active licenses and is often sought out by the employers in the industry as they can perform services as a nail technician, and a massage therapist. It creates an avenue for increased revenue as well as job security.
