BARBERING

Phlebotomy is the process of making a puncture in a vein, usually in the arm, with a cannula for the purpose of drawing blood. The procedure itself is known as a venipuncture, which is also used for intravenous therapy. A person who performs a phlebotomy is called a phlebotomist.
The study of phlebotomy involves the science of body parts and systems, collection modalities and techniques, safety procedures, and laboratory practices.
This training helps the student to be able to sit for the National Health Association certification (NHA) upon completion. Graduates will possess the skills to meet the needs of the employment market for entry- level phlebotomy. This is a clock hour program and is comprised of theory and lab hours to complete the program.
